an intermission from printerworld...

It seems like I spend too much of my life trying to get hotel printers to do things they don't want to do, like print things out.

Anyway, I'm currently at http://www.clne.org/works.htm trying to get my talk for tonight to print out on the hotel printer. For reasons that nobody can explain, I can't get my primary email while I'm here, and also I've learned that bunches of emails both too and from me haven't arrived. Oh well; nothing I can do about it right now, so I shall not worry.

I'm enjoying sitting in talks, and writing a short story and a script at the same time from different ends of the same notebook.

Congratulations to the Hugo Winners! (If you're curious, you can go to http://www.locusmag.com/ to find out who they are. I thought it was a really good bunch of choices, although there were several other choices that would have been just as good. Nice healthy year.)

Also congrats to the Official Bird Lady Of Neil Gaiman.com (aka the Girl from OBLONG) for making the front page of the Minneapolis Star Tribune for blogging: http://www.startribune.com/stories/168/5542283.html

And there's a lovely review of MirrorMask from Time Out at the Locarno Festival: http://www.timeout.com/film/news/569.html. (Strangely, I took the most pleasure from this in seeing it described as "Dave McKean's MirrorMask", because it is.)

Right. Back to work.
